What is the budget for tourists shopping in the Principality? A survey carried out in May by Andorra Research + Innovation showed that tourists spend an average of 190 euros and hikers spend an average of 107.30 euros. The average shopping expenditure per person per day is therefore 154 euros. This is one of the latest data from one of the first studies carried out by the Trade Observatory, promoted by the Chamber of Commerce and the Andorran Tourism Board.
From the demand point of view, Joan Micó, head of the sociological research group at AR+I, also explained that 90% of tourists who come to the country buy goods, while the remaining 10% do not buy because this is the motivation for buying goods. This stay was also because there was no time.
Looking at the types of tourists, 49% of tourists spend money on perfume, 42.5% on clothing, and 32% on tobacco. In the case of hikers, this trend changes slightly: food comes first, followed by clothing (both at 33%), and then tobacco at 32%.

Maria Segarra, consultant at Intueri, has analysed the evolution of the commercial fabric since 2015 from a supply perspective, showing that the parishes with the highest commercial density are concentrated in the parishes of Andorra la Vella, Escaldes-Engordany and Pas de la Casa, which represent 84% of the institutions.
One aspect that Segarra highlighted is the high turnover of businesses, which is why in the last 10 years 51% of businesses have moved to Avenida Meritxell, with Avenida Carlemany reaching 48% and Pas de la Casa rising to 47%.
