Toronto Police said they were still searching for a suspect in connection with the scam, in which a victim was defrauded of about $20,000.
Police said they received a call shortly before noon on Aug. 16 about a scam in the area of Dundas Street West and University Avenue.
Police said the victim met the two suspects online Leolist.coma classifieds website, and then meet in person.
Police said the suspects allegedly gave the victim “a pill” but did not reveal what they gave him, however, the victim was unconscious for a long period of time.
During that time, the suspect allegedly stole the victims’ debit and credit cards and used them to purchase approximately $20,000 in merchandise, police said. They also said an undisclosed amount of valuables was taken.
Katie Doyle, 24, of British Columbia, is facing two charges of fraud and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, as well as one count each of theft, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence and intentionally delivering a hazardous substance.
In one Updated shortly before 9 p.m.Toronto police said Doyle faces additional charges of sexual assault, voyeurism and taking intimate photos without consent.
The charges have not yet been tried in court.
Toronto police are still searching for another suspect, who they describe as a woman with long brown hair who was last seen wearing all black.
Investigators believe there may be more victims.
