A man faces charges after police said a targeted shooting at a Woodbridge home on Friday left a toddler and a woman dead and two other people injured.
York Regional Police Officer Lisa Moskaluk confirmed to CBC Toronto that the victims were 2-year-old Marcus Vu and his 40-year-old mother Thi Trang Do.
On Friday, police said officers received multiple calls about gunfire at the residence on Casa Nova Drive just before 9 a.m.
When police arrived, they found four people with gunshot wounds. One person was pronounced dead at home, and three others were taken to hospital. On Saturday, police said the second person died from his injuries.
A news release on Saturday said a 41-year-old Toronto man was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.
“It is believed the suspect was known to the victim and this incident was targeted,” police said.
