Madrid (Euronews) – Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has ordered the blocking of the social network of the Venezuelan president and the American billionaire Elon Musk, owner of the aforementioned social network.

“Musk is the owner of X and he broke all the rules. All the rules of the social network Twitter itself, which is today called Venezuela has laws and we will enforce the laws,” he said at an event with supporters to celebrate his re-election.

Maduro noted that he advocated “suspending the circulation of the social network in Venezuela for ten days so that they can show their collections”, and said he had signed a proposal to this effect by the National Telecommunications Commission (CONATEL). “Get out! Elon Musk get out! Get out!” he addressed the crowd, asking if he had their support.

This isn’t the first time Maduro and Musk have traded verbal insults; recently, the Venezuelan head of state called Maduro part of an “evil sect of American power.”

After the presidential election, Musk wrote that “Maduro is not a good person” and “Venezuela deserves better.” The latter publicly challenged him to a fight, which Musk accepted, and demanded his resignation on the condition that the “dictator” ultimately lost.
