Five months after the National Seminar on Mali Football, Abdelkassim Fomba, Minister of Youth and Sports in charge of Civic Education and Citizenship Development, established an executive committee on August 8, 2024 to implement the recommendations.

The committee consists of seven members, including two members of the Mali Football Federation (FEMAFOOT), two members of the National Sports Authority, a project manager and a consultant, and is chaired by Djibril Drameh, a former coach of the local Eagles team.

According to the decision of the ministry, the committee was established to develop a roadmap for the implementation of the recommendations, organize monthly meetings to assess their implementation, prepare quarterly and annual reports, and provide advisory support for the effective implementation of these recommendations.

It was clearly stipulated that the Commission’s mission would end with the implementation of all recommendations made by the National Seminar on Malian Football or at the request of the Minister of Sports.

After the tragic elimination in the quarter-finals of the 2023 CAN, the National Seminar on Malian Football, held on March 26 at the Stade de Bamako, from March 5 to 7, 2024, produced a total of 70 recommendations.

Among others, they concern the development of football, the National Technical Direction (DTN) and training, technical staff for national selections, medical supervision and sports medicine, academies, football centres and young players, structures, infrastructure, national and international competitions, the commitment of the Ministry responsible for sports and FEMAFOOT, the management and environment of national selections and the financing/media/sponsorship aspects.
