This year’s process was unique. Initially, FMN submitted the names of two swimmers to World Water Sports Once the international swimming bodies have verified in their data systems that Mauritius has complied with the standards required to qualify for the Olympic Games, Wild CardShe then sent a form to FMN for it to sign jointly with the Mauritius Olympic Committee. After the two Mauritian authorities signed it, the form was returned to World Water Sports.

It was not until July 2 that FMN received confirmation that Anista Teeluck and Ovesh Purahoo had been confirmed for the Paris Olympics. Anishta Teeluck will compete in the 200m backstroke, in which she holds the national record, and Ovesh Purahoo will compete in the 100m freestyle. He currently holds the season’s best time for that distance, 52.25 seconds.

Please note that two of our representatives are currently abroad. Anishta Teeluck is training in Italy and Ovesh Purahoo is studying in Canada.
