Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Siphokazi Mawisa said police responded to a business robbery in the Mthonjeni area of Magodla ward in Ngqamakwe.
“Police received information that six men had robbed a residence and a grocery store and stabbed the owner with a knife. Upon investigation, they found the suspects’ hideout. The suspects arrived at the house and opened fire on the police, who then returned fire.”
