Lilongwe Nathenje police arrested 25-year-old mother Ivy Elinati and her 25-year-old husband Mphatso Nalinde on suspicion of killing their two-year-old son by snapping his neck. Grow up to be rich.

Lilongwe police spokesman Hastings Chigalu said Elinati was the child’s mother and Nalinde was his stepfather.
Mr Chigaru said the two wanted to gain weight and they spoke to a Mozambican doctor who told them to kill the children to make medicine.
“The family said goodbye to the people in the village and said they were going to Mozambique to visit relatives and when they reached the road, they broke the child’s neck and killed the child. “But when he called the healer and told him that he had killed the child and was going to take his body, the healer refused to take the body again and said he was going to kill the child,” Mr Chigalu said.
They said the family returned to the village with the child’s body and told the chief that the child had died on the road, but the chief did not accept it and reported the case to the police.
“The doctor who examined the child’s body found that he died of asphyxiation due to twisted neck. The doctor is yet to be identified,” Chigaru said.
