They shot and killed a man driving on Highway 385

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WREG) — A family was shot and killed while driving in Memphis in what appears to be a road rage incident.

The man told police he was at the intersection of Ridgeway and State Road 385 East when a white Audi began to veer into his lane and nearly hit his vehicle.

The 19-year-old victim said he honked at the driver, who he said then rolled down his window, fired several rounds into the car and drove away.

The bullets nearly hit his newborn baby and his wife, but two hit his car and he said his gas tank is now leaking due to the damage.

In early June of this summer, four children and a man were taken to the hospital after being shot in what police called a “road rage incident.”

Two people have been charged in the case.

Memphis police say the number of shootings on Memphis interstates has dropped nearly 11 percent so far this year, to 65 from 73 during the same period last year.
