Thaksin decided to introduce the Democratic Party to replace the two seats, one minister and one assistant minister of the Longbang Group, while the Thammanat Group had three seats, and it was still difficult for Santi to become the deputy prime minister. Conditions were set for Thai Airways, and if the qualifications were not passed, representatives could be sent to support.

Captain Thammanat Phromphao, party secretary, said on August 21, 2024, after the problems of the People’s Power Party began to subside. Being able to muster 29 MPs’ votes from the People’s Power Party, plus five votes from smaller parties, for a total of 34 votes, made Mr Thaksin and Pheu Thai leaders the decision to bring the Democrats into government to replace People’s Power Party leader General Prawit Wongsuwan, or “Big Pom”.

It is reported that the Democrat Party won 2 chairmen: Minister of Natural Resources and Environment. Mr. Chalermchai Sri-on, leader of the Democrat Party and Deputy Minister of Public Health, will be the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, while Mr. Det-Is Khaothong, who will be the party secretary-general, will be the Deputy Minister of Public Health.

Captain Thammanat’s Phalang Pracharath Party will get a quota of three ministerial seats as it has the support of 34 MPs, while the party’s deputy leader Santi Prompat will be deputy prime minister as he has five seats. The Phetchabun MPs supported Captain Thammanat, thus giving Mr Santi the chance to serve as deputy prime minister again.

Captain Thammanat will continue as Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, while Mr Atthakorn Sirilatthayakorn will continue as Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives as before.

However, it was reported that the Pheu Thai Party had initially informed the parties of the conditions for the ministerial qualification exam. If a minister fails to pass, a representative can be sent as a backup. As for Captain Thammanat, if there is a problem with the qualifications, he will push his younger brother, Mr Akara Phromphao, to become a replacement minister.
