Thousands of Indonesians are suspected of being involved in online gambling and scams in Cambodia, with nearly 2,000 of them being sent back home for their alleged involvement, according to Indonesia’s Migrant Workers Protection Agency.

According to data from the Immigration Bureau, there are about 89,440 Indonesians working in Cambodia, Immigration Bureau director-general Benny Rhamdani said on Monday (July 29).

He said about 1,914 of them had been repatriated for suspected involvement in online gambling and fraud activities, but did not disclose the exact time.
