Mexico City (apro) – Not everything was going to be so bad during the pandemic, one of the redeeming things was the opportunity to address the needs of various sectors; from this the Mexican app Mashow was born, created to help users connect with virtual events. It was supposed to be launched at the end of the first quarter of the year to support the experience of fans attending festivals and art-music gatherings, but it had to reinvent itself in the face of restrictions and cancellations of all types of shows, and therefore turned to digital. Two weeks after its launch, Mashow serves as a virtual calendar of performances and culture in response to the gradual reopening of events (not only in our country), with users able to view by day, week or month in Mexico, Spain and the United States, although the idea is to gradually integrate with other countries. In this regard, Diego Chávez, one of the eight founders of Mashow, based in Guadalajara, Jalisco, explained to apro by phone that Mashow was born during the pandemic due to the need for live performances: “We focus on being a catalog of everything new, you just have to download it on your phone, create a user and when you enter, all the events appear chronologically, whether free or paid. “For example, on September 27, the band Wallows will give a concert and when you add it to your calendar, the application will remind you four hours before the show so that you can go to it. We are not a ticket office, if there are tickets available, it redirects you to the ticket company so that you can buy the tickets. The face-to-face experience is completely different from this, but watching the shows at home gives you the possibility to see a concert in Mexico and then jump to another one in Spain on the same day if you want. ” Chavez, 32, who studies international trade, comments that the application is helpful not only for users and fans, but also for artists or institutions, since it is ultimately them who upload the presentations through their accounts. Although this work is currently carried out manually by the Mashow team. Requests can be made by contacting them through their social networks on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter (@Mashow_app) or through their website www.mashowentertainment.comRegarding creativity in the covid-19 era, the young man said that, although it may be complicated, the online scene opens up many possibilities: “I know that projects like Mashow were born during the pandemic to address a need. My advice is to develop your idea as quickly as possible, Mexico needs this now, even before the restrictions, there was a boom of entrepreneurs in the virtual part of Mexico. I hope things will continue because this is what is needed on the economic side.”
The app can be downloaded on Android or Apple Store.
