He joined in 2002 and resigned in 2020 because he felt that his promises were no longer respected, during a tribal conflict that left one person dead and seven injured.

This Saturday, people paid tribute to him. The members of the Commission recalled that Amabile Wahoolo was one of the great chiefs who signed and proclaimed the Kanak People’s Charter in Kwekala in 2014. He was also one of the founding members of the great chiefs of the National Council of Chiefs, Inatr Ne Kanaky, the Kanak National Congress to be held in Kanara in 2022.
