Libreville, Thursday, June 27, 2024 (Gabon News) – The President of the Transition, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, launched on Wednesday, June 26, the bypass road project through Cap Caravane, Bikele, Nkok, Andeme, which Owendo intends to solve the traffic congestion in Libreville. He also visited a series of construction sites under construction in Malibé 2, in the fifth district of the commune of Akanda.
The Head of State first visited the selected road development work sites on the Carrefour IX-Plage du Nord axis and listened to a presentation of the project at a working meeting. In addition, it also covered other aspects of the second phase of the project, in particular the construction of a 2X3 lane Libreville bypass highway.
During the detour, Gabon 1 visited the site chosen for the construction of a “five-star” hotel with nearly 300 rooms and a city of about 20 villas near Malibe 2.
The construction work on the 2×2 lanes of the Carrefour 9 Departments-Plage du Nord road axis, 12.5 km long, carried out by the AOM Group, will last nine months. As for the 2X3 lanes of the Libreville bypass highway, it will be implemented in thirty months and will affect the following areas: 9 Departments, Cap Caravane, Bikele, Nkok, Andeme and Owendo.
Through this field visit, the Transitional President demonstrated that he would strictly monitor the progress of all initiated projects in accordance with the CTRI roadmap for improving people’s living conditions.
Prime Minister Raymond Ndong Sima, who was present along with some members of the Government and the Commission for Transition and Rehabilitation of Institutions (CTRI), explained the merits of the exercise being carried out in the Estuarine Province.
“All countries are growing, and so are we. So far we have been focusing on the city of Libreville, but it is also good that we have a city starting to develop on this side and it is part of a more orderly logic. We have the sea and this development will be even more important. It involves the development areas of Cap Caravan and Bikélé,” said Raymond Ndong Sima
