For those who don’t know, the former Raïs Joseph Kabila is holed up near his former official residence. The building belongs to GECAMINES and was previously the residence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Prime Minister. Realizing that his term was coming to an end, he bought the Gécamines villa and neighboring residences, including the GLM, for comfort and security at a price known only to the person involved. On Friday, August 2, about 65 people were put on trial for the forced eviction and attack on the residence of the former Raïs Joseph Kabila. The trial was interrupted due to logistical problems.
