When the “progressive forces” attacked Joseph Kabila’s residence. The glory of the world was gone!

Gaston Mutamba Lukusa

On the morning of Wednesday, July 31st, my friend who knows what is going on in the crumbling nooks and crannies of Kinshasa was awakened by the sound of gunfire coming from the side of the GLM building (Litho Moboti Group). For those who don’t know, the former Raïs Joseph Kabila is holed up near his former official residence. The building belongs to GECAMINES and was previously the residence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Prime Minister. Realizing that his term was coming to an end, he bought the Gécamines villa and neighboring residences, including the GLM, for comfort and security at a price known only to the person involved. Anyway next!

The peace of the former Rice family was disturbed by the arrival of a large number of youths identified as part of the “Progressive Forces/Lukunga Base” (a special brigade of the UDPS). They were no joke. Hell and damnation!

Two members of the “Progressive Forces” “master” in GLM

We remember their strong participation in suppressing the peaceful demonstration of the opposition against the high cost of living and the way the electoral process was conducted on May 20, 2023. They spend their time intimidating the population. The victims tell with trembling voices about how they were kidnapped, tortured and imprisoned. They sometimes collect taxes. Comatose and trembling! This is “Macoutism”!

In Haiti, the Volunteers of National Security (VSN) are nicknamed “Tontons Macoute” for their terrifying character. It is a paramilitary militia formed the day after the attack on July 29, 1958 against President François Duvalier. Hell and damnation! As is often the case in war, everything began with a banal incident, a sporadic clash in the commune of Gombe, on Uvira Avenue. One of the protagonists called on the progressive forces to intimidate his opponents and accomplices. This hurt him. About 200 members of the progressive forces, who only understood one language, that of violence, looted the disputed building and injured the occupants. Sapelipet! The police intervened to stop the riot. The maniacs then headed towards the GLM building not far away.

Right: Former Rai “Joseph Kabila”

They say that appetite comes with eating. This explains the anger they infuriated the police guarding Joseph Kabila’s residence. They tore up posters, banners, portraits. The movement of the crowd is often unpredictable. Some tried to force the gate. There was an uproar. Sensing a growing threat, the police fired shots in the air to drive away the bandits. When calm was restored, former First Lady Olive Rembe woke up from her torpor and confirmed that the attackers came to eliminate her and force the family of the “Father of Democracy” into exile. She was shocked and emotional. She invoked divine justice in front of the two tied attackers. Understand his feelings! Yesterday’s super predators have now turned into terrible games again. So the glory of the world!

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. That’s Newton’s third law. The next day, at around 2 a.m., the police raided the den of progressive forces. They arrested 137 miscreants. In addition to machetes, there were girls, boys, minors and babies. Sapristi! On Friday, August 2, about 65 people were put on trial for the forced eviction and attack on the residence of the former Raïs Joseph Kabila. The trial was interrupted due to logistical problems. The event will continue on Monday, August 5.

We say that a moment’s patience can protect us from great misfortune. A moment’s impatience can ruin an entire life.
