The men’s and women’s volleyball teams will compete in the World Women’s Volleyball League this week

The men’s team is currently sixth in the standings and will be entering the third week of the Nations League (VNL), where they face some tough opponents in their fight for a G-8 spot in the final stage. Bernardinho Rezende made his men’s debut last Tuesday (18th) against the Netherlands, and then against the United States, Canada and France.
However, France is the only team ahead of Brazil in the standings. France is fourth with 6 wins and 17 points. Canada is seventh with 4 wins and 13 points, just behind Brazil, while the United States and the Netherlands are ranked 12th and 13th respectively, outside the qualifying zone for the final stage.
The women’s team ended the qualifying phase with a 100% success rate after defeating Turkey in a decisive victory this Sunday (16th). The final phase will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from Thursday (20th) to Sunday (23rd). On Thursday (20th), Zé Roberto Guimarães’ team will face Thailand at 10:30 am EST in Brasilia for a place in the semi-finals.
