PHNOM PENH: The Council for the Development of Cambodia approved 44 investment projects with a total investment of more than US$396 million in July, the Council for the Development of Cambodia said in a press release on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.
In July 2024, the Council for the Development of Cambodia approved 41 new projects and three expansion projects with a total investment of more than US$396 million, which will create about 25,000 jobs.
Of all the investment projects, 31 are located outside the SEZs and 13 are located within the SEZs.

Notably, the most prominent investment projects in July include:

A. Outside the Special Economic Zone

  1. The investment expansion project to build a laundry and dyeing factory in Kraing Tea village, Preah Nipvan Commune, Kong Pisey District, Kampong Speu Province, will add more than US$21 million in investment and create 74 new jobs.

B. In special economic zones

  1. The Che Cheang Special Economic Zone project in Koh Kong is located in O’Chrov Village, Phlong Village in Boeung Preav Commune, Sre Ambel District, Koh Kong Province, and Chheu Neang Village in Chroy Svay Commune, with an investment of US$100 million and the potential to create 331 jobs.
  2. The investment project to build a food processing plant (Galatin) in the Koh Kong Cheang Special Economic Zone has an investment of more than US$26 million and will create 194 jobs.
