The current president, Christine Sauzier, is actually a partner of former MSM MP Maxime Sauzier. He is still close to the Sun Party and serves as the chairman of Mauritius Telecom. Christine Sauzier is a member of the board of the Bank of Mauritius. She is also a member of the Financial Reporting Council and the Mauritius Business Group.
Then zoom in on the members. Sanjay Jérôme Bhunjun is a dentist. He is also responsible for Dental Center At C-Care Darné Clinic. Yashvi Singh Rupan is Non-Executive Director from Landscope Mauritius and receives a monthly stipend of Rs 70,000. Vedita Peerun is a notary public by profession and her family has always been close to gay men. His father Narainkrishna was the director of the National Security Agency between 2002 and 2005. He currently serves on the Financial Crimes Commission. Prior to this, he was appointed to the Disciplined Forces Service Commission and served on the board of the Independent Commission Against Corruption. Vedita’s younger brother Vikash was the unsuccessful MSM candidate for the Belrose-Quarterborn constituency (18th) in 2019. He is also a director of the National Insurance Company.
Ammanah Ragavoodoo is Pravind Jugnauth’s lawyer and she represented the MSM leader in multiple trials. She is known to be very close to the Jugnauth family. Shameenee Mootien is a senior lawyer at Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs (ENS) in Mauritius. ENS is considered the largest firm of lawyers in Africa. The local branch is led by Maxime Sauzier and Thierry Koenig. Shadmeenee Mootien has been a member of the ESC and EBC since 2021. She has been practicing as a lawyer for more than 18 years and unlike others, she does not receive retainer fees from any public institution.
