The 4th World Creative Economy Conference will be held in Tashkent from October 2 to 4. According to the decision of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on August 23, an organizing committee for the preparation and holding of the conference was established, headed by Prime Minister Abdullah Aripov. The Uzbek Foundation for the Development of Culture and Arts was designated as the working body of the organizing committee.
The first World Congress on Creative Economy (WCCE) was held in Bali, Indonesia in 2018. It will be held in Dubai (UAE) in 2021 and again in Bali in 2022. The event aims to help develop international cooperation, highlight the role of creativity in building inclusive, sustainable economies and shift the focus from resource-based to knowledge-based economies.
This year’s conference topic: “Inclusive Creativity: A Changing Reality”. It is dedicated to studying social and economic issues related to the rapid development of technology, especially the introduction of artificial intelligence.
The conference will include a ministerial meeting in the field of creative economy, world and Uzbek creative economy exhibitions, seminars, consultations, practical exercises, speeches and other activities.
During the forum, an art residency program is expected to be launched at the Tashkent Center for Contemporary Art. Presentations of the French Cultural Center, the National Restoration Center, and the project to create a creative economy cluster at the “Abulqasim” religious school and the “Ohunguzar” cultural heritage site will also be held.
According to the results of the meeting, the Fund, together with the Strategic Reform Agency, should organize the participation of meeting participants, international experts, industry representatives and the public in the improvement of the draft law on “Creative Economy”.
In addition, a concept for the development of creative economy in Uzbekistan until 2030 and a state program of projects to be implemented in 2025-2026 should be developed.
