Palau Koror – The 2024 Palau Scholarship Internship Program accepted 29 students this summer, of which 22 successfully completed their internships. Most of the students completed their internships by the end of last week.
The remaining seven students are still completing their required internship hours.

The Palau Scholarship is awarded to Palauan students who are graduating, currently enrolled, or have just graduated. Four of the 29 recipients are recent graduates. Three of the graduates are currently seeking permanent employment in Palau, and one graduate is leaving to pursue a master’s degree in the medical field. The remaining students will return to their respective colleges and universities to continue their studies.
The students attend colleges and universities in Guam, Hawaii, Taiwan and the mainland United States, pursuing degrees in fields such as anthropology, economics, medicine and international relations.
During the internship, participants gained valuable experience by working with different government and non-government agencies.
The Palau Scholarship Program was established by RPPL 8-43 and later amended by RPPL 9-43. The scholarship covers round-trip airfare to Palau for returning students and one-way airfare for graduating students. In addition, participants receive a stipend of $400 for every two weeks during the eight-week internship.
According to the Palau National Scholarship Office, application deadlines remain the same each year: April 1 for summer internships and November 1 for spring internships.
The Palau Scholarship Program is designed to encourage recent Palauan students to return home and contribute to national development.
