There is also a diaspora competition (diaspora) for feature-length narrative/documentary films made by African directors living outside the continent, about Africa with an international vision. Festival founder and director Azza Husseini also announced that the 14th edition will be held in the southern Egyptian city of Luxor from January 9 to 14, 2025, and films will be accepted on the festival website starting from August 1. The next Luxor African Film Festival, whose honorary president is the big star Mahmoud Hemida, is organized in cooperation with the non-profit civil organization Young Independent Artists Support and Development Foundation, in partnership with the Egyptian Ministries of Culture, Tourism, Antiquities, Youth, Sports and Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Luxor Governorate, and sponsored by the Syndicate of Cinematographers, the National Bank of Egypt and Misr International Films.
