Brazilian surfer Tatiana Weston-Webb made it to the final of the ninth stage of the WSL World Tour. Erin Brooks was the winner of an unconventional trick ocean at Cloudbreak in Fiji. With this, the current Olympic silver medalist secured a spot in the finals to be held in California in September.
In this verdict, Tati lost from the start, but until the last 10 minutes she effectively chose a strategy to turn the tide. Erin Brooks regained the lead with a great wave and scored 7.43. Adding 7.67, she won the event in which she participated as a guest. The Canadian is not among the elite of surfing, but she has broken through the barriers and won the championship. In the WSL qualifying competition, Brooks was fourth and very close to getting a place for next season.
The Fiji stage was the Brazilian’s first WSL final in two years. In 2022, Webber participated in the final and finished fourth. That year, the surfer won two regular season titles.
Now, the WSL is preparing for the finals. The final event of the year will be held in Tresles, California, USA. Tatiana Weston-Webb has qualified and will face Australian Molly Pickeram in the first decisive preliminary match. If she advances, she will face Brisa Hennessey in the second stage.
