Afghan Prime Minister Hassan Akhund announced on Wednesday at the start of celebrations marking the third anniversary of the Taliban’s reconquest of the country that the country must “maintain the course of Islamic law.”
In a letter read out earlier, the Taliban Prime Minister said our leaders “must realize that our duties did not stop with ‘jihad’ and we now have the responsibility to uphold the course of Islamic law.” Before the parade, dozens of Taliban leaders and senior military officers held a military parade at the former base of Bagram Air Force Base.
Hundreds of guests gathered at the symbolic former US air base, about 50 kilometers from Kabul, to celebrate the third anniversary of the undisputed Taliban regime.
