Syrian state media cited Reuters late on Thursday as saying four soldiers were wounded in an Israeli airstrike in central Syria.
They said Israeli air strikes from the direction of northern Lebanon also caused “some material damage.”
However, the Israeli army has not commented on the foreign media reports.
Israel has been carrying out strikes against Iran-linked targets in Syria for years, but has stepped up such strikes since Hamas attacked Israeli territory on October 7.
Israel’s i24 reported that Israel “probably” launched an attack specifically targeting Sayrat Air Base in the western Syrian province of Homs, citing the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. Others said Israel’s attack targeted ammunition being shipped from Iran to Hezbollah.
There were a series of explosions on social media reporting the incident.
