Basseterre, St. Kitts (SKNIS): St. Kitts and Nevis is taking a bold step to solidify its reputation as the Caribbean’s premier arts hub with the inaugural Creative Power Arts Conference, to be held from August 31 to September 7, 2024 at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort.

The event will bring together top talent and industry leaders from across the region, showcasing the Twin Islands’ commitment to fostering creativity and cultural exchange.

Speaking at InFocus on 14 August, Creative Economy Director Robertina Weber said the announcement of the inaugural Creative Power Arts Conference had generated a strong response, which had given impetus to the ambitious target.

Weber noted that competitors from across the Caribbean, including countries such as St. Lucia, St. Eustatius, St. Martin, Trinidad and Jamaica, will be traveling to St. Kitts for the event.

Marketing and Communications Officer Kasim Pemberton stressed that the Creative Power Arts Conference is expected to have a positive impact not only on creatives but also on the local economy.

“I can see creatives being able to use these facilitators to grow their business and their skills,” Mr Pemberton said. “Some of these facilitators are looking for talent and we’re working hard to ensure our creatives are able to be in the spotlight.”

Mr. Pemberton expressed confidence that the impact of the conference would be significant, provided they could translate the insights gained into tangible successes.
