The payment of social welfare benefits in August was delayed due to the transition to the government’s new fiscal year.
Minister of Women, Children and Social Protection Lynda Tabuya said all efforts were being made to expedite the process and ensure all recipients received their benefits.
“We understand the importance of these payments to the beneficiaries and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused,” she said.
Tabuya said all future monthly payments will resume on a normal schedule starting in September.
