Dr. Vong Kasika, social analyst and head of the research team at the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Royal Academy of Cambodia, sees the contribution of citizens in the construction of border infrastructure with the government, and focuses on building caring borders, protecting borders, and promoting better development of borders, which is the common consensus of the general public.

On August 22, 2024, Cambodian Prime Minister Prince Hun Manet announced the establishment of Border Infrastructure Fund Additional funds will be raised for infrastructure development along the border, with a focus on the construction of a border ring road, for people from all walks of life at home and abroad to join the government in building the country.

Regarding the establishment of the fund, Dr. Vong Kasika told Thmey Cambodia that the border issue is now a hot and sensitive issue, and this case also reflects the patriotism of the Cambodian people and the spirit of protecting the territory, so donations from the Cambodian people like this at the time of revitalizing Cambodia show that the Cambodian people love their land and do not want Cambodian territory to fall into the hands of foreigners. In addition, this also shows that the Cambodian people are full of confidence in the leadership of the Royal Government of Cambodia.

Speaking of CLV, Dr. Phon Kasika believes that by creating Border Infrastructure Fund This will make people more aware of the CLV project, a border development project that the Royal Government has strategically considered at every stage to prevent chaos. At the same time, he said, the people’s opposition and lack of support will decrease, and the people will turn to more support the government.

On the other hand, the doctor also said that establishing such a fund or mutual assistance is more or less a long-standing culture in Cambodia, so he called on all Cambodians to trust the government and work with the government to support the infrastructure construction fund, focusing on supporting the construction of a permanent ring road and strong development along the route to protect Cambodian territory.
