The Sri Lankan women’s cricket team just won (July 28) their first ever Asia Cup title.
The home team defeated India by 08 wickets with just 08 balls remaining and won the 2024 Asia Cup title.
India won the toss and chose to bat first and the score was 165/6.
Sri Lanka lost the first point early in the chase. However, the hosts got back on track with half-centuries from Chamari Atapaththu and Harshitha Samarawickrama.
Kavisha Dilhari sealed the victory with a six, taking Sri Lanka’s score to 167/2.
Harshitha Samarawickrama was named Player of the Match while Chamari Athapaththu was named Player of the Tournament.
