Slaven Kovačević, an adviser to Željko Komšić and an appellant at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, declared himself to be a Croatian during his time as a Sarajevo city councillor.
He appealed to the European Court of Human Rights, alleging that he was threatened for being a member of a different ethnic group and for declaring himself Croat.
Let us remind you that Kovacevic claimed in his appeal to the Strasbourg Court that he was discriminated against in Bosnia and Herzegovina because he was a member of Others, however, the Court was aware that Kovacevic had declared himself to be a Croatian when he was a councillor in the city of Sarajevo.
The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg asked Kovacevic to clarify the charges, after which he asked Sarajevo city authorities to revise his publicly published biography and remove references to him calling himself Croat.

Kovacevic is now trying to convince the European Court of Human Rights that he never claimed to be Croatian and that his CV was falsified.
However, the City of Sarajevo responded that on June 12, 2024, after a request for clarification from the Strasbourg Court, Slavon Kovacevic asked to amend his biography to remove his Croatian nationality.
Kovacevic mentioned the abuse of the Personal Data Protection Act, which was absurd because the information in which he declared himself to be a “Croat” when he was an MP between 2012 and 2016 was publicly posted on the website.
According to the Dnevnik.ba portal, Kovacevic is currently seeking the support of the Central Election Commission to cover up the fact that he once claimed to be Croatian.
