Late JulyBBC Studios said its BBC Studios Productions division has appointed Sky content director Zai Bennett as its new chief executive and chief creative officer, starting in the autumn.
As part of the new structure of Sky’s content team, Frott-Coutaz has now expanded the roles and remits of the likes of Meghan Lyvers and Phil Edgar-Jones.
Levers will serve as executive director of original scripts, leading the script group, with original film director Julia Stewart now reporting to her, while Catherine Butler will oversee drama commissioning and Alex Moody will oversee comedy commissioning, in addition to Levers’ existing reports.
According to Sky, Edgar-Jones will now take on the role of executive director of original non-scripted programming, heading up the non-scripted programming group, “in which he will have overall leadership over our entertainment, arts and factual programming.” Poppy Dixon, director of documentary and factual programming, will report to him in addition to the current role.
Sky said: “As executive director of content strategy and performance, Jamie Morris is responsible for our platform and channel performance, in addition to the compliance team, led by director of content compliance and policy, Elizabeth Rowlands, and the commissioning of Sky Kids original programming, led by Lucy Murphy, director of children’s content, UK and Ireland.”

Meanwhile, Helen Northrop, director of non-scripted commercial affairs, will report to Caroline Cooper, who will expand her remit from chief financial officer to content to become chief operating officer of Sky Studios and Content. “This means all commercial affairs, production management, systems and operations, and International Sky said: “Funding activity for scripted and non-scripted programming will be led by a single leadership structure.”
Katie Keenan, group acquisitions director, will now report directly to Frot-Coutaz.
The company also announced that it would expand the remit of the Sky Studios Original Brands team to cover all original scripted and priority non-scripted work across Sky Studios and the content division, as well as awards work. Harrison Kelly will lead the combined division as director of original brands and international marketing, studios and UK and Ireland content, with Luke Seraphim, Sky’s head of diversity and inclusion for original programming, also reporting to Harrison. Sky said the aim is to “continue to work closely with producers, talent and the wider creative community”.
