SJM’s revenue surges in first half of the year

SJM Holdings announced that net gaming revenue for the first half of 2024 was HK$12.897 billion, compared with HK$8.695 billion in the first half of 2023.

In one Regulatory filingsThe casino operator said its adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization for the period was HK$1.734 billion, compared with HK$461 million in the first six months of 2023.

SJM said the loss attributable to the company’s shareholders was HK$162 million, a significant reduction from the loss of HK$1.264 billion in the same period last year.

SJM said in the filing that it accounts for 12.5 percent of Macau’s gross gaming revenue (GGR), including 15.2 percent of mass-market table games GGR and 4.4 percent of VIP GGR.

The company’s Grand Lisboa Resort had total revenue of HK$2.956 billion, of which gross gaming revenue was HK$2.325 billion and non-gaming revenue was HK$631 million, both higher than HK$1.034 billion and HK$396 million in the first half of 2023.

Meanwhile, Grand Lisboa Hotel’s total revenue was HK$3.8 billion, including HK$3.66 billion in gross gaming revenue and HK$140 million in non-gaming revenue, compared with HK$2.266 billion and HK$137 million in the same period last year respectively.
