“We did initially think it would be a smart move to sell the LA house, but after having such a great time with family and friends while I was living in Las Vegas this summer, we realized it would be a smart move to keep the house there. My two older children still live in Celtic House (the LA home).

“After 27 wonderful years of marriage, Penny and I love each other dearly. Believe me…there is nothing unreconcilable in our marriage.”

He signed the letter “Rod Stewart, a very lucky man.”

Earlier, Lancaster told the UK Hello! Magazine June Issue Stewart will turn 80 in January and celebrations will last for “weeks”.

“We’re going to leave from Florida at Christmas and go on a big ship to the Caribbean together,” she said. “It’s going to be a wonderful trip.”
