Screenwriter Sinisa Pavic died at the age of 92 and was buried in the cemetery in Vlasotinaci, RTS reported.
Pavic was sent off in his cult series Music, performed by Philip Ilic’s orchestra.
Siniša Pavić wrote scripts for some of the most famous domestic series, from Pozorište u kuci and Otpišina, to Hot Wind, Good Life, Family Treasures, and the films Tesna koža and Laf u srcu.
He was born in Sinji in 1933 and moved to Belgrade when he was five. He graduated from Belgrade Law School and worked as a judge. In 1963 he published his first novel, Višnja na Tašmajdan.
Due to its great success, the book was adapted into a film, directed by Stolet Jankovic, starring fifteen-year-old Ned Anerich. The second novel, Heat (1980), was adapted into a television series of the same name, which was also shown in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Austria, and was voted the best television series in several countries.
He made his debut on Belgrade Television in the famous TV series Diplomci in 1971. He wrote the scripts for the first 13 episodes of the series Otpisani and 27 episodes of Theatre in the House.
Pavic wrote the scripts for 14 historical TV series: The Last Act, Crime Time, The Man Who Bombed Belgrade, Major Atherton’s Mission, The Soldier’s Departure, The Return of the Marshal, etc., as well as the TV series Spanak and Bangjika.
He also writes plays, novels and film scripts. He is the author of the following film scripts: Tesna kojda, Lafu u srcu, Čudo vidjeno, The Moth, Nema Problema, Poltron.
He is the author of the most watched TV series in the history of RTS – from “Hot Wind” to “Good Life”, “Happy People”, “Family Treasures”, “Money Comes”, “White Ship”. The last series he shot was “Heroes of Our Time”, which premiered on RTS from 2019 to 2021.
