A crash closed the northbound lanes of Highway 97 near the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus early Saturday morning, but traffic appears to be clearing in the area now.
The accident occurred just before 4 a.m. north of University Avenue when a vehicle struck a utility pole. Power lines and transformers fell onto part of the highway, blocking northbound lanes.
According to the RCMP, no one was injured in the incident.
While the northbound lanes of the highway were temporarily closed, traffic appeared to be moving again.
