Miami- Venezuelan singer-songwriter Ricardo Montaner revives some of his most famous songs in his new album, Ricardo Montaner 2 (Versión Montaner), released this Friday, in which the artist recaptures the nostalgia and melancholy of his first musical steps.
As he did in “Ricardo Montaner 1 (Versión Montaner)”, the 66-year-old Venezuelan continues his musical project of restoring “the all-encompassing and unmistakable melody of his voice” and taking his followers on an “emotional journey. Unforgettable,” his communications agency said in a report this Friday.
“It’s a unique experience to rework my iconic songs with their original arrangements and current sounds,” said Montana, who has sold more than 25 million records during his long career.
Montana admitted that “it’s true that you never go through an experience the same as one you’ve already had,” but this time, he felt “a sense of fulfillment that he hadn’t felt when he was faced with doubts about whether this would work.”
“This time, I saw it from another perspective, which was undoubtedly fulfilling and beautiful,” said the artist of Argentine parents, who won the 2016 Latin Grammy Award for Excellence in Music and the 2021 Best Tropical Song.
The album includes songs such as “Tan amores”, the iconic song released in 1988, from the album “Ricardo Montaner 2” (1988), which was one of the songs that made him famous.
Other songs included in the now-restored album include “Where Did Love Go”, “Sleeping Beauty and Me”, “Only One Kiss” or “Your Piano and My Guitar”.
Last May, Montaner released Ricardo Montaner 1 (Versión Montaner), the first of six albums the singer-songwriter will release by February 2025.
In April, during the Latin AMAs, Montana performed his single “Yo Que Te Amé” live and was honored with the Latin AMAs Legacy Award in recognition of his extraordinary musical legacy and lasting impact on the industry. JS
