Siem Reap coalition forces seized nearly 10 kilograms of drugs

The joint police team of Siem Reap Province cooperated to seize nearly 10 kilograms of drugs and detained and interrogated a suspect.

Brigadier General Um Amara, deputy commissioner of anti-drug work at the Siem Reap Provincial Police, said on the afternoon of July 20 that at 10:30 am on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, the anti-drug coalition forces including the Army, the Transportation Department, the Provincial Public Works and Transport Department, and the Puok District Police Inspectorate cracked down on the illegal storage, transportation, trafficking and use of drugs on the road in Puok Thmey Village, Puok District Commune, Siem Reap Province.

During the operation, the police arrested a suspect named Thun Chhavan, also known as Nat, a 28-year-old male from Ta Kok 1 Village, Moung Commune, Moung Russey District, Battambang Province, and currently living in a rented house in O’Dambang 2. Exhibits from O’Dambang 2 Commune, Sangk District, Battambang Province: 10 tablets of methamphetamine powder weighing 9,955.65 grams, and 5 pink methamphetamine tablets with WY marks.

He said that after the interrogation on July 20, 2024, the special forces prepared the case and sent the suspects and evidence to the Siem Reap Provincial Court for legal proceedings.
