Ukraine said this morning it shot down 22 Russian missiles fired at the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, and two other regions of the country. Two people were injured in the attack.
In the northeastern city of Sumy, a center for children and orphans was damaged by a missile attack last night. Mayor Oleksandr Lysenko reported on Telegram that a total of 13 people were injured, including four children.
The Ukrainian Air Force said Ukrainian forces shot down 22 Russian missiles and 20 attack drones overnight.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said two adults were injured and four cars were set on fire in the city.
Vyacheslav Gladkov, governor of Russia’s Belgorod region, which borders Ukraine, said Ukrainians launched an airstrike last night that injured one person. He added that shops and infrastructure in the city of Belgorod, part of the region, had been damaged.
