Shoprite Botswana increases group profits

Shoprite, Africa’s largest supermarket chain, reported a 12% sales increase in the fiscal year to June, driven by rapid store expansion and overall sales growth. The group, which has 2,322 stores in Africa, including 14 supermarkets in Botswana, saw gross merchandise sales from continuing operations rise to about P178.64 billion.
