Shame breeds greed, pride and entitlement
Greed, arrogance and entitlement – a cancer of the soul called Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD).
Narcissists only care about themselves. They only want what they think is best for themselves. They don’t consider the interests of others. They are often only interested in your money and are greedy when it comes to getting what they want you to provide for them. They covet attention, praise, and comfort. They believe that other people exist to meet their needs. They expect others to give them whatever they think they need. They don’t consider the damage they cause and only ask for what they think they are entitled to, and they feel they are entitled to anything they want.
Narcissists often have an intense focus on money, status, and personal gain, which may take precedence over the needs of others. Research shows that narcissists tend to be very materialistic, driven by a sense of entitlement and a desire for the admiration and approval of others. They may be willing to exploit or take advantage of others to accumulate wealth and possessions. At the same time, narcissists often lack empathy for the feelings and perspectives of those around them, which may cause them to disregard the needs of others. However, it is important to note that not all narcissists display these traits to the same degree, and there are individual differences between people with narcissistic personality disorder.
Sometimes I wonder what causes this mental disorder. Is it a flaw in nature or nurture? In short, they are immature. They need to grow up to be mature adults and share the air with us.
They are consumed by me, myself, and me. They are filled with jealousy and envy. They will never be happy for you. They believe they deserve it.
I think drug dealers are greedy and arrogant. They play God and use their wares to control young people and destroy them. They feel so powerful.
Money drives them to be greedy. Greed also drives them to indulge in self-destruction, without caring who they hurt. They indulge in it to numb the pain and fill the emptiness inside.
Be careful and guard yourself against all kinds of greed, for life does not consist in the abundance of possessions.” (Luke 12:15)
1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.
Shame makes them feel unworthy of God’s forgiveness, so we self-destruct even more. But Jesus came to remind us that He created us and we find our worth in Him. That’s how He loves us. Love is shameless.
