Shabwa Governor lays foundation for first solar power station with UAE support

Today, Shabwa Governor Awad bin Al-Wazir laid the foundation stone for a 53 MW solar power plant project in the province funded by the United Arab Emirates.
The project, the first of its kind in the province, has an estimated total area of 600,000 square meters and is located on the northwest side of Attak city.
The station will include more than one hundred and twenty solar panels, a storage system, a transfer station and a 19-kilometer transmission line.
This is the third solar power plant built in Yemen with the support of the UAE, following the Aden and Moka power plants.
