The Saudi Media Academy, on behalf of the Ministry of Media, recently launched the New Media Business Accelerator Project.

The program, jointly implemented by eWTP Arabia Capital, Saudi Cloud Computing Company (Alibaba Cloud) and Fujian Youth Federation, aims to promote innovation and development in the media industry. The program was launched during the Saudi-China Media Entrepreneurs Forum, coinciding with the visit of the Secretary of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee and the Chairman of the Fujian Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee to Saudi Arabia.

The accelerator program aims to support entrepreneurs in the media industry by providing the necessary resources and guidance, as well as facilitating the exchange of expertise between Saudi Arabia and China.

Assistant Minister of Media Dr. Abdullah Magroth, speaking on behalf of Minister Salman al-Dossari, stressed the important role of media in the Saudi future vision led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

“We are proud to continue strengthening and developing media-related industries in an era where technology has become an international language, a key attribute of humanity, and an essential tool for understanding the future,” said Dr. Al-Maghloth.

Jerry Li, managing partner of eWTP Arabia Capital, expressed strong support for bilateral cooperation between Saudi Arabia and China, especially in the fields of technology and media.

“Fujian is one of China’s most important provinces, with close economic and trade ties with Saudi Arabia and a long history of cultural and media innovation,” Li Keqiang said. He also reiterated the eWTP Arab Capital’s commitment to strengthening future cooperation and exchanges.

The Media Business Accelerator aims to foster innovation and growth in the media industry by providing mentorship, a supportive environment and essential resources to startups and entrepreneurs. The three- to four-month program will include eight to 12 early-stage startups with high growth potential in areas such as media artificial intelligence, digital content creation and distribution, media analytics and data science, interactive media and gaming, and media platforms. The accelerator will offer mentorship, workshops, pitch days and networking opportunities to connect with industry leaders and potential partners.
