Today, Wednesday, Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics Saleh bin Nasser Al Jasser unveiled the self-driving air taxi for the first time in the holy land.
The experiment included a vertical take-off electric air taxi, which is the world’s first air taxi to be approved by the Civil Aviation Authority.
It also examined the services that taxis can provide in transporting pilgrims between holy sites, facilitating transportation in emergency situations, transporting medical equipment, and providing logistical support by transporting goods.
Saleh bin Nasser Al Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistical Services, stressed that the launch of the air taxi experience is an initiative to apply the latest future transportation technologies in the transport and logistics system.
Jasser stated that it is aimed at adopting new, innovative and environmentally friendly modes of transport, which employs artificial BroadCast Unitedligence applications, supports the sustainability of the modern transport sector and achieves the objectives of the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics Services in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
