Twente dropped points against Sparta Rotterdam on the second matchday of the Premier League. In the last minute, Tobias Lauridsen scored with a header, 1-1.
Twente – Sparta Rotterdam 1-1
The first half was very mediocre, with almost no chances for both teams, and the game ended in a 0-0 draw after 45 minutes. After the break, Twente played better and had several chances to pull away. Carel Eiting almost scored from a long shot. With 15 minutes left, Sam Stein took a penalty and the score became 1-0. Nevertheless, Enschede had to share the points. Lauritsen came close to scoring several times, but in the last minute, the striker headed in the goal and the score was rewritten to 1-1.
Heerenveen – Utrecht 1-1
Utrecht took the lead after three minutes thanks to Ole Romenyi. Ron Jans’ side looked to have made it 2-0 soon after, but Paxten Aaronson’s goal was ruled out. Nevertheless, Heerenveen looked set for a second defeat, but Jacob Terensko equalised just before the end of the game.
Arizona – NEC 1-0
AZ also won the second match. Alkmaar took the lead at home thanks to an early free kick from Sven Meinens. AZ outplayed NEC in the match, but the goal was not as high as it could be. NEC was disappointing and did not become dangerous until midway through the second half.
RKC – Groningen 1-2
Newly promoted Groningen have made a good start in the Premier League. Following last week’s win over NAC Breda, they won 1-2 against RKC on Saturday. Groningen had plenty of chances against RKC and they also took the lead after 11 minutes at Waalwijkers thanks to a goal from Jorg Schreuders. Thom van Bergen ended the game 0-2 with 15 minutes left. RKC did get some reward from Richard van der Venne, but the Waalwijkers were unable to get anywhere.
