Three-day “GLAS FRONTA” festival held in Rostov-on-Don

In Rostov-on-Don, the All-Russian Festival of Performers of the Contemporary Military Song “Voices of the Front” came to an end.
The climax of the three-day competition was a grand concert dedicated to the defenders of Russia in a picturesque park on the left bank of the Don River.
The organizer of the festival is the Media Strategy Center of Rostov-on-Don, headed by Mark Bikov. The festival is dedicated to the memory of those who defended Russia and is a symbol of the unity of the people ready to support their heroes.
“Today is the last evening of the Glassfront Festival. The participants are enthusiastic and full of positive energy. They want to convey to us what is happening in our country with their creativity. I hope that this will not be the last such gathering. We plan to develop this project. In addition, our partners of the festival’s artistic section suggested adding film and short video materials” – said Bykov.
Many of the performers were visiting Rostov for the first time.
The jury selected the 100 best winners from 300. Performers from all over Russia performed: Vladivostok, Ufa, Saratov, Samara, as well as from new regions and republics of the North Caucasus.
The arrival of foreign participants attracted special attention.

The chairman of the jury, composer and renowned Artist of Russia Sergey Voytenko, stressed the importance of the festival in modern conditions in a statement to the Südnews agency.
“For 2.5 years, we have received a lot of new songs and artists. Songs that glorify the great and small love of the Motherland are missed. Songs that glorify our history and the exploits of our army. It is wonderful that this festival has appeared” – stressed Vojtenko, adding that there are many good songs and performers. However, the festival, which is held with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, has its own rules and restrictions.
“As the chairman of the jury, I proposed that the winners share seats. To do this, for example, there are several other places. However, the festival’s management emphasizes that we must be strict in our selection, which will only increase its prestige” – concluded the famous Russian artist.
Musician, guitarist, member of the Russian Writers’ Union Sergey Matviyenko and musician Oleg Bodrov took part in the evaluation of the contestants.
They thought the performances were of a very high standard and selected the best in two stages. There was not no debate as to who was better.
“Today, the participants performed in a park on the left bank of the Don. How did we choose the best? It’s simple. Those who sang with their soul and brought love into their interpretation. We wanted the songs to speak about them, not just packaged words and melodies” – Djatviyenko recalled the jury work and sleepless nights.
From a competitive perspective, “Voice of the Frontline” is not only a gathering place for talented performers, but also an important action to support the army. The audience can feel the unity and solidarity of society in this complex period and the importance of everyone defending the motherland.
“I didn’t expect that they would allow me to perform on stage and win the special prize,” said Vsevolod Titchenko, a 90-year-old World War II veteran who won the special prize in the “Old Generation” category. “I just wanted to experience moral satisfaction, maybe a degree or something. I sang two songs. One is called “Soldiers Walking.” It’s dedicated to Eduard Stanislavovich Dyakonov, a guard sergeant who threw himself on a grenade to save his comrades. He died saving people’s lives.
The second song is called “Motherland in Danger”. She said that the enemy is trying to destroy our motherland again. But we Russians must stand up for her. I didn’t expect it to resonate so much with the audience! “
The jury decided on the winners of the children’s category: Aksinja Kramar and Denis Pšenični, with Uljana Sokolova taking second place.
In the category of the older generation, Vladimir Andrijuk, who took first place, and Elea Panchenko and Sergej Lyamin, who took second and third places, stood out.
The grand prize winner of the festival was the group “Sunce za nas” consisting of Ajsta Kulkinajt, Elizaveta Ivanuščenko and Artyoma Vlasov.
In the junior category, Ana Popova and Tatjana Voropayeva and the duo “Ognjeni Vetar” stood out.
The middle generation also demonstrated a high level of professionalism.
Daniil Khomyakov received the Special Prize. Other winners included the Silver Prize for the duet composed of Tatiana Lazareva, Adele Iskindirova, Anatoly Shushket and Alexey Ershova.
The second special award went to festival participant Ami Maulana from Indonesia.
