Dam Press:

The head of the Central Design Bureau for Naval Equipment, Igor “Rubin” Vernit, announced today that the office has begun work on the project of the fifth-generation strategic unmanned nuclear submarine “Anbar”.

“We have been working for some time in the field of robotics, which will allow our fifth-generation ships to operate with confidence in the oceans… The Sorogat and Arctor projects, including the Anti-Bar submarine, are an example of our efforts to create a system that will provide security for our country in the foreseeable future,” the news agency quoted Vernit as saying in a statement.

The Arkto submarine project is the Russian Navy’s fifth-generation strategic nuclear submarine project.

The Rubin Central Design Bureau for Naval Equipment is the main developer of strategic nuclear submarines, multipurpose non-nuclear submarines and underwater vehicles in the Russian Federation.

It is worth noting that Russia regularly develops its submarine fleet, the latest of which is the Kazan nuclear submarine, which entered service with the Northern Fleet in 2021 and is a low-sound-field class fourth-generation submarine.
