A technical glitch on one of Schueberfouer’s rides on Saturday caused it to stop running midway, leaving passengers stranded in the air.

On Saturday afternoon, Luxembourg city officials said there had been a “minor technical incident” that left five people hanging in the air: the “Top Sweep” ride stopped moving for reasons that are still unclear.

City Services and fairground staff stepped in and restarted the ride, allowing passengers to disembark “in complete safety,” according to a news release sent to the press on Sunday.

The city government said that the accident did not cause any casualties and the trapped people “were rescued immediately after they came down the mountain.”

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation. The ride is temporarily closed until further notice. “Top Scan” needs to obtain approval from the governing body “Luxcontrol” before it can resume operation.
