The Luxembourg Indian Art and Culture Association is bringing the lively Ganesha festival celebrations to the Grand Duchy for the first time, inviting the community to take part in this rich cultural and spiritual experience on Saturday 7 September.

The Indian Institute of Arts and Culture Luxembourg (IACAL) will be organizing the Ganesha Festival in Luxembourg for the first time. The celebration commemorates the birth of Lord Ganesha, a symbol of wisdom, prosperity and new beginnings, and is a cultural event that includes a series of religious ceremonies and cultural events.

Participants can experience a variety of poojas, or Hindu worship rituals that involve prayers, offerings and ceremonies to honour and seek the blessings of the deities.

The day will also feature several cultural events that celebrate India’s rich traditions and vibrant heritage. For example, Modak, a sweet dumpling believed to be Ganesha’s favourite, will be served. The celebrations will culminate with a grand procession and immersion of the Ganesh idol, symbolising the deity’s return to Mount Kailash.

The event will take place on Saturday, September 7, from 3pm to 8:30pm at Rue des Ecoles 3 in Schouweiler. Admission is free and no registration is required.
