Dough

  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 10 g instant yeast
  • 100g sugar
  • 250 ml warm milk
  • 75 g unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg

For the filling

  • 100 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 150 g brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

Making the frosting

  • 150 g powdered sugar
  • 30 ml milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cinnamon Rolls

  1. Mix warm milk, sugar and instant yeast. Wait for it to become foamy.
  2. Add melted butter, salt, and eggs. Mix.
  3. Gradually add flour and knead until smooth. Let rise for one hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan. Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
  5. Roll out the dough into a 40×30 cm rectangle.
  6. Spread softened butter over dough.
  7. Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over the butter.
  8. Roll the dough into a log and cut into 12 slices.
  9. Place slices on a baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Sugar Glaze

  1. Whisk together powdered sugar, milk and vanilla extract.
  2. Drizzle frosting over warm cinnamon rolls.
  3. Enjoy these homemade cinnamon rolls while hot and topped with a sweet frosting!
