Radio Television Hong Kong and China Central Radio and Television are about to jointly shoot a documentary to showcase the unique charm of Hong Kong’s food culture to the world.

Chief Executive John Lee said at the launching ceremony that the documentary “A Taste of Hong Kong” was an important milestone in the first joint production between the two broadcasters.

He said that the cooperation between China Media Group and RTHK has supported the SAR government in various ways, including donating a number of high-quality programs to RTHK for broadcast.

Li Jiaxiang said that this cooperation not only further enhanced the Hong Kong people’s understanding of the country and promoted Hong Kong’s integration into the overall national development, but also promoted Chinese culture to the international community.

Wang Xiaozhen, deputy director of China Central Television, said at the ceremony that as a national media, China Central Television has always worked closely with the Hong Kong government to tell Hong Kong’s story well, promote high-quality development, showcase the charm of Chinese culture, fulfill the responsibilities and mission of a national media, and achieved a series of fruitful results.

Meanwhile, Director-General of Broadcasting Cheung Kong-tai expressed the hope that the documentary would encourage more mainlanders to visit Hong Kong.

He added that RTHK will play an active role and work closely with mainland broadcast media while serving as a bridge for cultural exchanges between China and the world.
