The Ministry of Environment, Water and Sanitation informs users and local residents that, as of 24 August 2024, National Road 1 (RN1) at the Hèrèdougou Bridge remains flooded.
The water level is still decreasing, estimated at about 24 cm per day. The water level is 32 cm above the bridge, 92 cm on the left bank (Hèrèdougou side) and 112 cm on the right bank (Pâ side).
Despite the significant drop, there is still a risk when crossing the bridge as the floodwaters still extend to a distance of about 2 kilometers on both sides of the bridge.
While waiting for the road to be released, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Sanitation invites all users of this section of RN1 and local residents to keep updated on the progress of the situation provided by its technical services, taking into account the weather forecast that announces the possibility of rain in the next 24 hours. He also invites them to respect the measures taken by local authorities and urges them to use alternative solutions.
As a reminder, these floods have affected the villages of Eredugu and Boro. Emergency and humanitarian relief teams are working to help the victims who are currently staying in schools or homestays.
